But the savings don’t stop there. Rent (or even purchasing a home) in a desirable location is much more affordable in many of the countries we focus on. And utility prices will seem ridiculously low compared to what you have become accustomed to.
Another important thing that costs less is all of the fun things you’ll want to do. Boat rides, day trips, SCUBA diving…almost any activity that costs money will cost less when enjoying it abroad.
2. Higher Quality of Life
At first, the higher quality of life that comes with living abroad might seem similar to the cheaper cost of living that we just discussed.
But quality of life is more than just the things you spend money on. It includes the intangible things that make life more enjoyable.
For example, the simple act of living in a beautiful place or near the ocean can have a huge impact on your happiness.
And the ability to outsource many less desirable tasks like cooking, cleaning, and doing your laundry all add up to more time you can spend doing the things you enjoy.
Is this possible everywhere? No. But in Thailand, The Philippines, Mexico, much of South America, and Central or Eastern Europe it is. In fact, having a maid or private chef is possible for many of the men reading this article.
So it makes sense the benefits of geographic arbitrage and living a higher-quality of life are appealing to many men.
